Born in Bogotá in 1964. With the short story book La travesía del vidente, published by Planeta, he won the National Literature Prize from the District Institute of Culture and Tourism of Bogotá in 1995. In 2002, he won the Biblioteca Breve award from Seix Barral with the novel Satanás. In 2004, he published the short story book Una escalera al cielo. He has published the novels La ciudad de los umbrales (1992), Scorpio City (1998), Relato de un asesino (2001), Cobro de sangre (2004), Los hombres invisibles (2007), Buda Blues (2009), Apocalipsis (2011), Lady Masacre (2013), and La melancolía de los feos (2016); and the essays La locura de nuestro tiempo (2010), La importancia de morir a tiempo (2012), and Paranormal Colombia (2014).
