Rolando Toro Araneda (1924-2010) was a Chilean psychologist, anthropologist, poet, and painter, known for creating the Biodanza system. Born in Concepción, Chile, on April 19, 1924, he trained as a primary school teacher and later studied psychology at the University of Chile. His teaching career included professorships at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and at the School of Medicine of the University of Chile.
Among his notable works is "La Inteligencia Afectiva: La Unidad de la Mente con el Universo" (2012), an essay that explores the connection between the mind and the cosmos. Additionally, he wrote "Biodanza" and "El principio biocéntrico," fundamental texts in the field of personal development and human integration. His legacy continues in the practice of Biodanza and in his literary contributions to the understanding of affective intelligence.
