Gabriela Rubio studied graphic design and is a writer and illustrator. As a writer, she has published more than twenty titles, from books for babies to young adult novels. Some of them have been translated into Catalan, Basque, French, Italian, Korean, and Japanese. As an illustrator, she has over sixty children's books published. She is also the coordinator of a Postgraduate course and teaches illustration classes at Escola Eina in Barcelona. Since January 2001, she regularly collaborates with the newspaper La Vanguardia. For her work, she has received important awards, such as the Lazarillo de Ilustración, the Apel.les Mestres de Illustrated Children's Literature, and the Ugly Duckling, in recognition of her professional career.
