Antonio Scurati (Antonio Giovanni Scurati) es un escritor, académico y ensayista italiano conocido por su aproximación narrativa a la historia contemporánea. Doctor en teoría de la literatura, ha enseñado en la Universidad de Bérgamo y en la Universidad Libre de Lenguas y Comunicación de Milán, donde ha investigado sobre violencia política, medios y memoria histórica. Su estilo combina documentación exhaustiva con una prosa directa que examina cómo los mitos públicos se transforman en poder real.

Su obra más reconocida es la monumental serie M, dedicada al ascenso y consolidación de Benito Mussolini, cuyo primer volumen M. Il figlio del secolo le valió el Premio Strega en 2019. Las siguientes entregas —M. L'uomo della provvidenza y M. Gli ultimi giorni dell’Europa— continúan este proyecto literario-histórico que busca desmitificar el fascismo mostrando su funcionamiento cotidiano.
