Maitena Inés Burundarena Streb, known artistically as Maitena, is a prominent Argentine cartoonist and scriptwriter born in Buenos Aires in 1962. Of Basque and Polish descent, she moved to Uruguay in her youth, where she began to develop her passion for drawing and illustration. Throughout her career, she has worked in various media, including magazines and newspapers, and has published numerous books that reflect her sharp observation of everyday life and human emotions.
Among her most notable works are "Mujeres alteradas" (1993), "Superadas" (2006), and "Curvas peligrosas" (2008). These publications, framed in the genre of graphic humor and comics, have been acclaimed for their ability to capture the complexities of the female experience with humor and sensitivity.
