Anita Grace Howard, known as A. G. Howard, was born on June 9, 1970 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, USA. She grew up in a military family, which led her to live in various places across the United States. She settled in Amarillo, Texas, where she completed her high school and college education. Before dedicating herself fully to writing, she worked for eight years as a librarian at a high school in Amarillo.

A. G. Howard is known for her fantasy novels aimed at the young adult audience, especially for her Splintered series, a dark reinterpretation of the classic Alice in Wonderland. The series includes the books Whispers, Delirium, Deceptions, Untamed, and Silences, as well as a prequel titled Alice the Absent. Her style is characterized by a gothic and romantic atmosphere, merging classic elements with a contemporary vision.

In addition to Splintered, Howard has written other works such as Roseblood, a reinterpretation of The Phantom of the Opera, and the Haunted Hearts Legacy series, which combines romance and supernatural elements in Victorian England.

Currently, A. G. Howard lives in Amarillo, Texas, with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, skating, gardening, and family outings to historical sites.
