Known for his roles on television, such as the protagonist of Doogie Howser, M.D. and Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, Harris has also ventured into children's and young adult literature.
In 2014, he published his autobiography Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography. Subsequently, he started the series The Magic Misfits, with The Magic Misfits 1: The Rebel Magicians in 2017, followed by three sequels until 2020.
