Synopsis "2.Now We Are Two"

In the Valley of the Kings, an old workman warns Howard Carter that the tomb he has found is not empty. In a village by the Nile, a bride hears her name called from the water. On a black mountain near Medina, an engineer meets the king who owns it. In the ruins of Aleppo, a dead grandfather keeps knocking. For thirty years, folklorist Dr. Samy Elmahdy recorded these accounts from guides, fishermen, refugees, midwives and mothers across Egypt, Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Tunisia and Lebanon. He believed he was only collecting stories, until the stories began collecting him.
