There is no denying that life is becoming more difficult with each passing year: for violence, environmental issues and national crises arise, as we try to raise families and be the Christians we hope represents Jesus well to others. Yet to be the Christian that Jesus would be pleased to call His co-heir is achievable if one were to actively seek the truths of the Bible. In the second book by Barry Morgan, (A Thought For Your Walk) the book of Proverbs is used as the foundation for the creation of new, more pertinent proverbs that apply to the situation s we face as people in the last days before Christ return. Described by Barry as "a book to meet up with today's world of thinking for tomorrow's steps in life", (A Thought For Your Walk) offers several words of wisdom that are situated in God's Word while being appropriate to experiences people have today. Barry states that the need for proverbs is due to the ongoing battle between good and bad that started in the time of Adam and Eve, and has only progressed in intensity in recent times. The topics discussed in the book focus on several timely, some controversial, situations: marriage roles designated by God, keeping God above all else, necessity of prayer, remaining fresh in the Bible, and many others. The proverbs are to be the modern-day version of the Bible's Proverbs, seen also as God's guidance of a man's steps as he walks with the Lord. Yes, the times are harsher than ever before now, but (A Thought For Your Walk) is to encourage Christians to remain steadfast in their walks in faith. They are not alone in their paths, as God is always there and always leads the way.
