Adriana Puiggrós (Buenos Aires, September 12, 1941) is an Argentine pedagogue, writer, and politician, known for her contributions to the field of education and her defense of public education and human rights. She graduated as a National Normal Teacher and earned her bachelor's degree in Educational Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. Later, she obtained a Master of Science in education at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) of the IPN in Mexico and a PhD in Pedagogy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Throughout her career, she has been a full professor at various universities and has held positions in public administration, including director general of Culture and Education of the province of Buenos Aires and national deputy. She has been a principal researcher at CONICET and has published numerous books on education, including Imperialism and Education in Latin America (1980) and Popular Education in Latin America (1984). Her work has been recognized with distinctions such as the Honorary Doctorate from the National University of Cuyo and the National Pedagogical University. Currently, she is an emeritus professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UBA and an advisor in the APPeAL program in Argentina. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes the importance of education linked to work and the inclusion of young people in the educational system to improve their living conditions.
