Mai 1897 in Mnchen) war Oberkonsistorialprsident der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Bayern. Sthlin studierte in Erlangen von 1840 bis 1844 Theologie und Philosophie. Er war 1847 Vikar in Ostheim und 1849 Vikar in Aha b. Gunzenhausen. Von 1850 bis 1866 war er Pfarrer in verschiedenen bayerischen Pfarreien, von 1866-79 ist er Konsistorialrat in Ansbach und von 1879-83 Oberkonsistorialrat in Mnchen. Er erhlt 1880 die Ehrendoktorwrde der Theologischen Fakultt Erlangen. 1883 wird er von Knig Ludwig II. zum Oberkonsistorialprsidenten ernannt und bekleidete dieses Amt bis 1896.
