Synopsis "Alloying elements effect in making higher grade grey cast iron"

This research is carried out to optimize the alloying elements effects on grey cast iron. Three combination of alloys has been taken for study. Combination is in between Copper and tin in which copper has been varied and tin kept constant taking four combination of samples. Another combination, tin has been varied and copper kept constant. Third combination is in between molybdenum and copper in which copper kept constant and molybdenum percenatage has been varied. In all the combination, four samples have been taken. In all samples mechanical, metallurgical and wear testing has been performed and compared with respect to properties in each combination. Best combination on the basis of optimization of alloy and cost of making metal casting for the automobile industry.
