Synopsis "Almon"

Homer Virgil Hardwick is certain that his daughter, Loulie, has the makings of a great artist, so the Civil War veteran vows to give her the very best education he possibly can. At first reluctant to leave their idyllic home in Almon, Georgia, Loulie finds passion at college. Her teachers recognize her talent and challenge her to achieve ever-greater heights in painting. At the same time, the beautiful and brilliant Rose becomes Loulie's constant companion. The two share love and a love of art that promises to bring them a rich and fulfilling life together. The obstacle to that fate arrives in the person of Mark Calland, the dashing and reckless scion of a wealthy and powerful Congressman. He would possess Loulie and shamelessly uses every manipulation in his power to get what he wants. Loulie must follow a path fraught with deceit, violence, and familial discord as she seeks to make a life of creativity and love.
