There are two ways of studying the Bible. There is devotional study of the Bible, as it is done in Churches in the form of "Bible Study". The main objective is to draw lessons from the Bible and apply it to one's life. There is also the scientific study of the Bible, an academic study of the Bible. In this sense the Bible is studied critically as an ancient writing, with the modern scientific method of interpretation of ancient writings (Hermeneutics), which throws light on the historical background of the writing, the author, his culture, the language he used, the circumstances in which he wrote, the problems) he was addressing, the literary style he used in addressing the problems), etc. This book is thus a scientific study of the Bible, an academic study of the Bible, a hermeneutical study of the Bible, as it is done in educational institutions.Inspiration of Sacred Scriptures •••Hermeneutics: The science of interpretation of ancient writings •*• The art of interpretation ••• Interpreting Sacred Scriptures in the Church ••• VOLUME TWO PART TWO:THE PENTATEUCH ••• Introduction ••• The Pentateuch ••• Genesis ••• A critical look at the two creation stories in Genesis •*• What Genesis teaches us about the nature of sin •*• The call of Abraham: the origin of the Jewish nation Exodus, the book of liberation ••• Leviticus, the book of holiness •*• The book of Numbers •*• The book of Deuteronomy •*• VOLUME 2 PART I: INTRODUCTION TO NEW TESTAMENT LITERATURE ••• INTRODUCTION •*• Taxation in the New Testament Theology of Matthew the Evangelist •*• The Theology of Mark the Evangelist •*• The Theology of Luke the Evangelist ••• Theology of John the Evangelist ••• The 4 portraits of Jesus by the four Evangelists •*• VOLUME 2 PART 2 - THE SYNOPTIC GOSPELS •*• The Gospel of Mark The Gospel of Luke •*• The Gospel of Matthew •*• The synoptic problem •*• VOLUME 3,PART I:THE GOSPEL OF JOHN •*• The structure of the Gospel ••• Authorship of the Gospel ••• The Community of John The Christology of John ••• VOLUME 3, PART 2: ACTS OF THE APOSTLES, PAULINE LETTERS, NON-PAULINE LETTERS AND REVELATION ••• Acts of the Apostles **• Who was this man, Paul?
