Synopsis "Bruno"

Nobody wants a ten-year-old dog. Except the people who can't let him go. Bruno has spent 1,247 days in the last kennel of a struggling animal shelter in the mountains outside Madrid. He's huge, he's arthritic, and he costs exactly 872 euros a year. Laura, the vet who runs the place on reheated coffee and sheer stubbornness, would rather close the doors than give up on him. Then the Foundation sends Lucas: a consultant with a wool coat, a tablet, and a spreadsheet for everything. To him, Bruno is a "low-turnover asset." To Laura, Lucas is the enemy. They have 180 days to save the shelter. Along the way there's a blind cat who bites management, a nine-year-old with a yellow backpack and a plan, a one-eyed mastiff who steals sandwiches, and a red folder that could shut the place down for good. Warm, funny, and honest about what it costs to love something that can't pay you back, Bruno is for anyone who has ever walked past the last kennel and looked back. A feel-good novel about second chances, slow-burn love, and one very old, very good dog. (And yes: the dog is fine.)
