Synopsis "Darkly Flows the Taff"

Darkly Flows the Taff by Simon Barnes.RUPERT COURTNEY MORGAN - Agent for the Department of Industrial Espionage (D.I.E) is sent to Wales to investigate the death of a fellow agent who has been found dead slumped over the wheel of his car high up in a Welsh mountain. It looks like suicide, but why was a leek and a copy of Under Milk Wood found between the man's legs? And why was he clutching a deflated rugby ball? And why was the name Megan scrawled in blood red lipstick on the windscreen The story ranges far and wide from the windswept cities to the even more windswept mountains and down into the amazingly hurricane swept valleys of the Land of our Fathers. Rupert finds that he is up against the most deadly of foes - more powerful than the Tongs, more sinister than the Mafia - more ruthless than the Triads - the all evil Masters of the Tafia have their claws in every walk of life - from big business to little business, the arts, sport, even the darts league! Fiendishly cunning they will stop at nothing to keep control of their vast empire of crime. They are faceless, humourless, witless and usually legless! Can Rupert Courtney Morgan reach the nerve centre of the Tafia before they strike him down? Or will the mysterious MEGAN scrawl her name on HIS windscreen?'This book is such fun and so well written ...'Horatio Nelson - Thoughts from my window-sill
