Synopsis "Die Hypochonder (in German)"

Botho Strau wurde 1944 in Naumburg (Saale) geboren. In Koln und Munchen studierte er Germanistik, Theatergeschichte und Soziologie. Von 1970 bis 1975 war er Dramaturg an der Schaubuhne am Halleschen Ufer in Berlin, wo er heute als freier Schriftsteller lebt. Sein schriftstellerisches Werk wurde mit zahlreichen internationalen Preisen ausgezeichnet; 1987 wurde ihm der Jean-Paul-Preis und 1989 der Georg-Buchner-Preis verliehen. Seine Theaterstucke gehoren zu den meistgespielten an deutschen Buhnen. 2007 erhielt Botho Strau den Schiller-Gedachtnis-Preis 2007 des Landes Baden-Wurttemberg.
