The story begins with the global food company Xanacea facing a hostile takeover. The CEO dispatches inquiry agent Alex on an expedition to Montana to obtain fresh dinosaur fossils. He believes the astonishing preservation of proteins in them is due to a breakthrough preservative, the sale of which should rescue his company. Alex is soon joined by the curiosity-driven CEO's daughter, Silvia, and her knowledgeable Christian friend, Ambi. Silvia is heir to a vast fortune, but it will only be hers on condition that she embrace Christian faith. Unknown to her, she is in deadly danger from ruthless rival Hervey Meyer-Roth, who stands to inherit the massive legacy in the event of her demise. The trio unearth a fine set of fossils and immerse themselves in authentic Montana life, including a Native American powwow where they're introduced to traditional food‑preservation techniques. Meanwhile, Hervey secretly engineers a series of accidents designed to eliminate Silvia. Alex repeatedly intervenes to protect Silvia, and mutual attraction develops between them. Encounters in Montana and London enlighten Silvia and Alex about controversial and misunderstood Christian beliefs and practices. The pair are tested by difficult moral choices. As danger creeps closer, they must decide what matters most: wealth, ambition, love, or faith.Xanacea scientists successfully identify preserved proteins but fail to discover the hoped-for super-preservative in the fossils. Ironically, the breakthrough comes instead from the Native American preservative. Hervey makes one final attempt to remove Silvia by pushing her off a remote Dorset cliff. Alex, prompted by an inspired dream, arrives in time to rescue her. Their experiences transform Silvia and Alex. As they reflect on the dangers they have survived and the questions raised by the fossil discoveries, they see God's providence at work. Their priorities shift from wealth and inheritance toward faith, love, and purpose. Read more
