Reconocido ilustrador y autor de novelas gráficas, Kazu Kibuishi nació en Tokio, Japón, en 1978, y se mudo a los Estados Unidos en 1982.

Es autor de la novela gráfica Amuleto, serie que incluirá nueve libros. El guardián de la piedra es el primero.
