Synopsis "Forever Shales"

It was a cold, wet day in August when there came a knock at the door. My fresh bone was soon forgotten - I ran to the door barking, getting there before Armstrong. "Shales! Get back!" She ordered. I wanted to see who it was, so I ignored her. She grabbed my collar and pulled me back, enabling her to open the door and greet the visitor. "Mr Rowland!" she exclaimed. "The family will be pleased to see you." She stepped backwards, swinging the door wide open. "Do come inside, sir. It’s a horrible day out there." He stepped across the threshold, dripping water all over the floor. It was raining quite heavily, and thunder rolled and beat its drum in the distance. I strained forward and she let go of my collar. I was eager to see my old master. I jumped up and he vigorously rubbed my head. "Shales. Hello, my boy," he said. Beautifully written for readers of all ages who enjoy a good, thick book, this adventurous historical story is about a dog named Shales. You will be delighted as you travel into the past, through the ups and downs of the bygone era of Victorian England.
