Synopsis "I Laughed Too"

Dez and Rory are best friends. Rory is funny, and Dez usually likes being in on the joke. But after a reading mistake becomes a nickname, the joke keeps going-at recess, in class, and around other kids. Dez laughs too, even when it doesn't feel funny anymore.

I Laughed Too is a nuanced story about teasing between friends, the confusing ways children hide hurt, and the courage it takes to say, "Not to me." Without turning either child into a villain, it shows that real friendship can survive honesty, awkwardness, and repair.

For ages 6-9, this picture book offers an emotionally honest starting point for conversations about friendship, teasing, speaking up, and listening when a friend sets a limit.
