Sie wird grob in interne und externe Wurzelresorption unterteilt.Dieses Buch informiert über die Art der internen Wurzelresorption und den klinischen Umgang mit ihr. Dieses Phänomen bleibt meist unbemerkt, da es in seiner Anfangsphase asymptomatisch ist. Auch die röntgenologische Darstellung ist erst in den späteren Stadien der Resorption zu erkennen. Daher ist es die Pflicht des Zahnarztes, die Fälle gründlich zu untersuchen und rechtzeitig zu behandeln, denn Zeit ist ein Schlüsselfaktor für eine rasche Behandlung und entscheidet über die Prognose des Zahns.
