Sigmund Freud, médico que revolucionaría toda la cultura comenzando por la médica y psiquiatría, utilizó conceptos para las enfermedades histéricas que habrían de ser clásicos y fundamentales en una nueva teoría de los desórdenes mentales y punto de partida para la construcción de una teoría progresivamente más compleja. Dio unidad y rostro a un método terapéutico que bautizó con el nombre de psicoanálisis. La presente obra constituye una fiel reproducción de las conferencias que durante los cursos de 1915 a 1917 pronunció Freud a un auditorio de médicos. Los capítulos que se desarrollan en este libro son los siguientes: los actos fallidos los sueños teoría sexual asimismo, se incluyen los temas relativos a la etiología de la angustia y las fantasías histéricas.

Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis. His work falls within the genre of psychology and philosophy of mind, revolutionizing the understanding of the unconscious. Among his most influential books are The Interpretation of Dreams (1899), Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality (1905), and Civilization and Its Discontents (1930). He also wrote The Psychopathology of Everyday Life (1901) and Beyond the Pleasure Principle (1920), fundamental in the evolution of psychoanalytic thought.

Throughout his career, Freud developed key concepts such as the id, the ego, and the superego, in addition to the theory of the Oedipus complex. His ideas influenced multiple disciplines, from literature to modern psychiatry.
