Synopsis "Lord, Make My Days Count"

This is the true story of a young Jewish man who leaves Russia for America in the early 20th century. Told in a series of heartwarming anecdotes and observations, it covers his arrival in New York, his early business success, his struggles to develop a series of shoe stores in Pennsylvania, his long and happy marriage, and the raising of his children. Triumphs and tragedies are mingled together in the rich texture of his life. Time and again his deep religious faith helped him to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. His intimate knowledge of both Old World Jewish culture and small-town Americana in the early and middle 20th century adds an important historical dimension to this personal narrative. This is a vivid portrait of one mans struggle to share in the American Dream.
