He has translated the most important poets in the English language, such as W. B. Yeats, whose Collected Poems he published with extraordinary success in 2010. A specialist in Irish literature, he has translated numerous books by authors from the island, including the anthology Ancient Irish Poems (2002). His biographies of Cernuda and Cirlot have earned him the Comillas and Antonio Domínguez Ortiz awards, respectively. He has also received the Andalusian Award for Literary Translation Rafael Cansinos Assens and the Seville Book Fair Award. He directs the magazine Estación Poesía. In his novel The Forgotten Bones (2014), published by the same publisher, Rivero Taravillo recreated an episode of the visit of Octavio Paz and Elena Garro to Spain in 1937.
