Synopsis "Moonlight Journey"

When Emma enters Secondary School her life changes drastically. She falls head over heels for her new English teacher, Ms Adams. Emma is intrigued by her appearance and slowly starts to think about what could be. She loses herself into a world full of dreams and imagination, hoping there might be a future for this unequal couple. Lou, Emma's new best friend, not only reinforces her crush on the handsome and smart teacher, but also challenges her to discover her sexuality. On a turbulent and dramatic journey towards adulthood Emma is searching for a way to find true love. But what if she fails? Moonlight Journey is the debut story published by Emilie Earl. The German author wrote it at the age of seventeen and published it years later after revising the plot. She herself had to discover her gay identity in a community of little understanding, being thus rejected by friends and family. Emilie Earl's first novel gives one of many examples of teenagers who struggle lonely fights to come out of the closet.
