Garon Tsuchiya (1947-2007) in 1986 rose to fame thanks to Ahomansu and Meisouou Boodaa, works he created with Akyo Makata. Later, he collaborated with the cartoonist Kaiji Kawaguchi on Tokishozo Disturbs and Losses and, between 1992 and 1993, published with Jiro Taniguchi the titles Blue Fighter, Knuckle Wars and Live! Odyssey. He also worked with Takashi Imashiro on the manga Takopon and with Nobuaki Minegishi on what is considered his masterpiece: Old Boy.

Nobuaki Minegishi (1959) is a Japanese manga artist whose notable works include Old Boy, Aburemon, Jungle, Teppen, Hoozuki, Joi Reika, and Maboroshi No Kakero. With the series Old Boy, he won the 2007 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material-Japan and in 2013, he made a successful leap to the big screen with an adaptation directed by Spike Lee.
