But Art classes are becoming extinct along with the Dramatic Arts so what is a concerned educator to do?And trying to motivate students to learn new things can sometimes be, shall we say, challenging. That is why these little handouts can be so valuable to the development of your students. They can be used to motivate them to learn new things that require not only the basic skills of reading and procedural learning but also provides them with the framework to add their own dramatic creativity. Each magic trick is a complete mini-play in itself and can be included in a more lengthy dramatic presentation. To make it easy for the student to learn, each effect can be easily printed out on a single sheet of paper and handed out to each student to make it easy for them to study on their own. But I would encourage you to also work on them as a class as it is very helpful to get encouragement in learning each effects and helpful criticism in perfecting their "performance art" projects can be an invaluable way to learn collaboration and team work.
