Synopsis "sideways stories from wayside school"

there was a terrible mistake. wayside school was supposed to have been built with thirty classrooms all next to each other in a row. instead, it was built with the thirty classrooms all on top of each other - thirty stories high! that may be why all kinds of strange stuff happens at wayside school. especially, on the thirteenth floor. it is a school full of unusual characters too. mrs gorf the meanest teacher in the world. terrible todd who always gets sent home early. john who can only read upside down. it is a crazy mixed up school brilliantly brought to life by the irresistible louis sachar.

Louis Sachar was born on March 20, 1954 in New York. While he was in the School of Economics, he accidentally taught some classes at a school. There, he discovered two things: he enjoyed teaching and he did not like the books the kids had to read. This developed the seed of a writer in him, which over time he was able to and knew how to put into practice. He finished Economics and began to study Law. Meanwhile, he made some forays into children's and youth literature. He definitively rose to fame in 1998 with his book "Holes", for which he received the National Award for Youth Literature and the Newbery Medal, the highest award given to an author of children's and youth literature in the United States. After this, he was able to leave the legal profession and dedicate himself to what he really liked: writing. In 2003, "Holes" was made into a movie: "Holes, the curse of the holes", where he himself took care of the screenplay.
