Greg Kenton has always had a natural talent for making money, despite the ongoing, annoying competition from his neighbor, Maura Shaw. Just before sixth grade, Greg makes an amazing financial discovery: almost every kid at school has a quarter or two extra to spend each day. When Greg multiplies the quarters by the number of students, he sees the school differently: it's a huge piggy bank! All he needs is the right hammer to crack it open. Candies and gum? Small toys and gadgets? Sure, kids love buying those at school. But will the teachers and principal allow it? It's not easy. What about selling comics? Comics seem perfect, especially the sturdy, small ones, the Anvil Comics that Greg writes, draws, and edits. Because everyone knows that school encourages reading, writing, creativity, and personal initiative, right? In this fun and timely novel, middle school teacher Andrew Clements once again faithfully reflects life and invites young readers to think about money, school, friendship, and the meaning of success.
