Andrew Loomis (1892–1959) fue un influyente ilustrador, autor y profesor de arte estadounidense, reconocido principalmente por sus libros de enseñanza del dibujo que, hasta hoy, siguen siendo referencia fundamental para artistas y diseñadores.

Nació en Nueva York y desarrolló su carrera durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, trabajando en publicidad e ilustración comercial en una época en que el dibujo era clave en revistas y campañas. Su estilo combinaba precisión técnica con un enfoque claro y didáctico, lo que lo llevó a convertirse en un referente en la formación artística.

Loomis alcanzó gran fama gracias a obras como Fun with a Pencil, Figure Drawing for All It’s Worth y Drawing the Head and Hands, donde sistematizó métodos accesibles para aprender proporción, anatomía y construcción de la figura humana.
