Richard Beynon (28 de marzo de 1925 – 1 de marzo de 1999) fue un destacado dramaturgo, actor y productor de televisión australiano. Nacido en Carlton, Melbourne, se educó en la University High School y estudió fonética en el Albert Street Conservatorium. Tras trasladarse a Inglaterra en 1947, se unió a una compañía de repertorio en la Isla de Wight y más tarde actuó en obras del West End londinense.

Su obra más reconocida como dramaturgo es The Shifting Heart, estrenada en Australia en 1957 y en el Reino Unido en 1959. Esta pieza aborda temas de racismo, inmigración y pertenencia social en una Australia de posguerra marcada por tensiones culturales.

En la televisión, Beynon se convirtió en productor para la ‎BBC, participando en la realización de series como ‎Z‑Cars y ‎The Duchess of Duke Street. Su experiencia como actor y escritor le permitió desempeñar un papel significativo tanto delante como detrás de las cámaras.
