Synopsis "The Eleventh Question"

A page-turning fantasy novel of modern distractions woven into ancient philosophy. A primeval Seer and her Apprentice listen for the Eleventh Question while monitoring the thoughts of the world. The target of bullies at school, Arista McGregor struggles to fit in. Her mother, Amanda, doesn't exactly help. Still mourning her divorce to Arista's father several years before, Amanda has taken to drinking and gambling, leaving Arista to fend for herself. With no friends and no support at home, Arista begins to question her existence and reason for being. When a violent confrontation with Amanda's abusive boyfriend puts Arista and Amanda in the hospital, Arista is sent to live on a farm with a vet who prides herself on helping people and animals. It is here that Arista learns the true value of life.
