Can a fire-breathing dragon become the town's greatest firefighter?Meet Ignis. He is a round, cheerful little red dragon with stubby emerald horns and a very shiny yellow turnout coat. While his ancient ancestors spent centuries hoarding gold coins in damp mountain caves, Ignis has a scandalous dream: he wants to put out fires and protect Maple Valley! There is just one fiery little problem: whenever Ignis gets nervous-or when a bumblebee lands on his snout-he sneezes giant geysers of roaring flame! When the fastidious Mayor Higgins arrives for inspection, disaster strikes: the town's thirty-foot strawberry ice cream tower collapses onto the electrical transformer, igniting a ferocious inferno.Water hoses are useless against the chemical blaze. Breaking the blue insulating tape from his snout, Ignis performs an unthinkable feat that defies every dragon rule: he doesn't breathe fire-he inhales the entire blaze into his cavernous belly! But as his tummy inflates like a five-meter glowing balloon, what happens when all that heat meets strawberry ice cream?Written by Adorlee Nicholas for Motherly Notes School, "The Fire-Breathing Fireman" is an action-packed, heartwarming, and hilarious story celebrating purpose, courage, and turning our unique differences into our greatest superpowers. Why Parents and Educators Love This Picture Book:Laughter, Suspense & Sweet Miracles: A fast-paced, laugh-out-loud adventure that captivates young listeners from the first sneeze to the sweet caramel finish.Award-Winning Gouache Artwork: 14 stunning double-page spreads filled with vibrant character acting, rich textures, and dramatic cinematic lighting.Parallel 3-Tier Trilingual Architecture: Every story scene includes three aligned language tracks: Traditional Chinese (with Zhuyin), Simplified Chinese (with Pinyin), and rich literary English.Bonus Idiom & Vocabulary Guide: 6 essential four-character Chinese idioms (¿¿¿¿, ¿¿¿¿, ¿¿¿¿, ¿¿¿¿, ¿¿¿¿, ¿¿¿¿) with phonetic guides, definitions, and model sentences.Cozy Discussion Questions: 5 thought-provoking discussion prompts to explore courage, overcoming stereotypes, and embracing individuality.Created by Motherly Notes: Educational storytelling backed by global pedagogical research recognized by Penn GSE, Wharton, and the Jacobs Foundation.Perfect For:Bedtime read-alouds, classroom story hours, and dual-language immersion programs (Ages 4-10)Heritage Mandarin learners and bilingual families worldwideAny child who has ever felt too different to follow their biggest dream
