You-Jeong Jeong, born on August 15, 1966 in Hampyeong, South Korea, is a prominent author of psychological thrillers and crime novels. Before turning to writing, she worked as a nurse, an experience that has influenced the depth and realism of her characters. Her literary career took off with the publication of "Shoot My Heart" (2009), followed by "Seven Years of Darkness" (2011), which was recognized as one of the top ten crime novels of 2015 by the German newspaper Die Zeit.

In 2016, Jeong published "The Good Son", a novel that explores the mind of a young man with psychopathic tendencies and his relationship with his mother. This book, belonging to the psychological thriller genre, has been translated into several languages and solidified her international reputation. Additionally, several of her works have been adapted into films, broadening her impact on popular culture.
