In his distinguished sports career, Lange holds the most coveted award: being the Argentine athlete with the most appearances at the Olympic Games, with seven. He first qualified in Seoul 1988 and since then has competed in every edition of the Games, except in Barcelona 1992 and London 2012
He won consecutive bronze medals in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, with Carlos Espínola, in the Tornado class, and was covered in glory in Rio 2016, when he became Olympic champion alongside Cecilia Carranza in Nacra 17
In his Olympic debut at Seoul 1988, he achieved a ninth place in the Soiling class, along with Pedro Ferrero and Raúl Lena. In Atlanta 1996 he repeated the same position, but in the Laser class, while in Sydney 2000 he was tenth in the Tornado class, with Mariano Parada
He said goodbye to the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, where he finished seventh in Nacra 17, paired with Carranza for the last time
At the Pan American Games, Lange won two silver medals: the first in Michigan City 1987, with Miguel Saubidet, in the Snipe Class, and the second in Mar del Plata 1995, in the Laser Class
In 1976, at the age of 15, he became Argentine champion in the Optimist Class, a title he won 12 more times in different categories. He was six times South American champion in various categories, three times world champion of the Snipe Class (1985, 1993, and 1999), world champion (2004) and runner-up (2006) in Tornado Class. He won the Princess Sofia Trophy on two occasions (1986 and 1987) and the European Championship in the Tornado Class (2002)
