Francesca Giannone
Francesca Giannone is an Italian writer and journalist born in Lizzanello, where she currently resides. She holds a degree in Communication Sciences and furthered her education at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. During her time in Bologna, she participated in the cataloging of thirty thousand volumes of the Associazione Culturale Luigi Bernardi and attended the biennial writing course at the Bottega di Narrazione "Finzioni". In addition to her literary career, she also pursues painting.
Her most notable novel is "La cartera" (2024), a historical fiction work inspired by the life of her great-grandmother, the first female postal carrier in southern Italy. This book has been a literary phenomenon in Italy, with over 450,000 copies sold, and has topped the sales charts in Spain.
