María Oruña
María Oruña (Vigo, 1976) is a Galician writer who has frequently visited Cantabria since she was a child. There, she has set to date the series of novels "Los libros del Puerto Escondido", all published by Destino: Puerto escondido (2015), a successful debut in the crime genre; Un lugar a donde ir (2017); Donde fuimos invencibles (2018), and Lo que la marea esconde (2021). In all these mystery stories, the protagonists are the Cantabrian landscapes and the team of Lieutenant Valentina Redondo, who has won the affection of thousands of readers. El camino del fuego is the new installment of the series, which moves for the first time to Scottish lands. She is also the author of El bosque de los cuatro vientos (2020), her first book independent of the saga, set in the author's native Galicia. Her novels have been translated into German, French, Italian, and Catalan, among other languages.
