María Teresa Andruetto
María Teresa Andruetto (Arroyo Cabral, Córdoba, 1954) is an Argentine writer known for her extensive work in children's, young adult, and adult literature. With a degree in Modern Literature from the National University of Córdoba, she has explored themes such as identity, collective memory, and the female universe in her texts. In 2012, she became the first Argentine and Spanish-speaking author to receive the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award, considered the "Nobel" of children's literature.

Among her most notable works are the novels Tama (1993), La mujer en cuestión (2003), Lengua madre (2010), and Los manchados (2015). In the children's and young adult sector, notable works include Stefano (1997), awarded the White Ravens in 1998, El anillo encantado (1993), and El país de Juan (2005). Her poetry includes titles such as Palabras al rescoldo (1993) and Sueño americano (2009). Additionally, she has published essays like Hacia una literatura sin adjetivos (2008) and La lectura, otra revolución (2012), reflecting her commitment to the development of readers and writers.
