Synopsis "A Cold Feast"

In the late seventeen hundreds a young orphan called Annie Arrowsmith is taken in by the local vicar. Recruiting her initially as a kitchen maid he discovers she is very gifted illustrator. With his help she is educated and a life-time fascination with herbs and their uses is born. In China she studies at the feet of Chinese herbalists and natural medicine practitioners. This is the start of a journey through seven generations of her descendants. Each generation adds to what becomes a most impressive ledger of herbal cures and natural medicine however each generation is persecuted as 'witches' for their abilities and beliefs. Each generation records the names of those that hurt the family and those that helped. Subsequent generations learn the religions, beliefs and the beneficial use of herbs. These studies include acupuncture, Native American Indian tribal beliefs, Voudon and Aboriginal folk law. These studies include the black arts. The ledger teaches the wolf howl, spirit flying, possession, and sunshine smiling. Through seven generations a voyage of revenge is plotted. Each act of retribution planned to perfection and ruthlessly executed. It's a real feast of revenge Will the black arts prevail or will good triumph over evil.........
