Le présent projet de recherche se concentre sur la réalisation d'une analyse sémiotique, selon la théorie structurelle de Roland Barthes, dans le roman La última pared roja, de Pedro Artieda Santacruz. L'objectif principal de cette étude est d'identifier les éléments sémiotiques, structurels et contextuels qui apparaissent dans le récit. Les niveaux actanciel, fonctionnel et narratif sont utilisés, ainsi que la théorie dénotative et connotative proposée par Barthes. La variable indépendante est l'analyse sémiotique structurelle, enrichie des théorèmes de Vladimir Propp, Julien Greimas, Tzvetan Todorov et Roland Barthes; et la variable dépendante est l'oeuvre narrative La última pared roja, de Pedro Artieda, typique de la littérature équatorienne du XXIe siècle. Le cadre théorique explique les dimensions de l'analyse actantielle, les fonctions de l'histoire et les points de vue narratifs, la structure interne et externe de l'oeuvre, ainsi qu'une esquisse biographique de l'auteur du roman proposé. Enfin, une méthodologie est proposée pour reconnaître le sujet principal d'une oeuvre narrative au moyen d'une analyse sémiotique.
