Comprehension Ninja: Inference and Beyond for Upper KS2 - Andrew Jennings

An exciting photocopiable reading comprehension resource from Andrew Jennings (@VocabularyNinja), the creator of the hugely popular Write Like a Ninja, Vocabulary Ninja and Comprehension Ninja: Non-Fiction series.

Comprehension Ninja: Inference and Beyond for Upper KS2 presents 24 high-quality non-fiction, fiction and poetry texts and photocopiable activities to help embed comprehension skills across the curriculum. With accompanying question sets that challenge pupils to effectively summarise, predict, and infer from the text, this practical resource will save teachers time and supercharge pupils’ reading comprehension skills. Difficulty increases through the book to enable teachers to meet pupils where they’re at.

As well as improving their comprehension skills, this book provides excellent SATs practice for every child. Inference makes up 30% to 50% of the marks available in the Reading SATs paper, closely following retrieval as the main domain in which children can acquire marks.
