With Bowie, a half-demon she can't stop thinking about, and Maxx, a snarky hellhound with far too many opinions, Noelle sets off in search of the impossible. Their first lead takes them to a popular botanical garden, where illusion magic thrives-and the resident fairies are helpful... kind of.

While there, Noelle trains to cast illusions so real they can fool the senses. Her results? Wildly inconsistent.

When the fairies put her to the test, she panics-and accidentally taps into something else entirely:
