Synopsis "Murder in Good Condition"

The Borrowing House lends cake pans, costumes, and tools. It was never meant to lend anyone an alibi. When a powerful donor is found dead during its anniversary celebration, coordinator Sylvie Mercer is left with a closed building, anxious borrowers, and a return receipt that doesn't agree with what she saw.According to the slip, a bronze gull was returned Friday. On Saturday, Sylvie saw it arrive in a neighbor's basket. By noon, it was beside a body. Her trusted volunteer signed the receipt. Other friends have explanations they would rather keep private. And the money that could keep the House open comes with a report Sylvie isn't sure she can honestly sign.Following one borrowed object through a roomful of familiar faces should be simple. To keep the House open, Sylvie needs her neighbors’ help. To find the killer, she may have to challenge the people offering it.Murder in Good Condition begins The Borrowing House Mysteries, an adult cozy mystery series set in a coastal Massachusetts town. Expect a complete mystery, practical humor, complicated friendships, and the beginnings of a gentle romance. Read more
