Synopsis "Prinkipo"

This was the holiday Şebnem and Jonathan had promised themselves and saved since their second year at medical school. Now newly qualified and recently married they had decided to take three relaxing weeks off before taking up there first jobs as newly qualified house doctors in the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle. They had been lucky to secure a position in the same hospital. This was a late honeymoon as University exams had got in the way of taking the honeymoon immediately after the wedding. The promised holiday had originally been planned for the summer, not the start of January 1979, but Şebnem had recently inherited a property from her great Uncle Aslan Kaplan on the island of Buyukada (Prinkipo) just off the coast of Istanbul and they were going to see it for the first time. But what was about to unfold was anything but the relaxing honeymoon they had planned. Neither of them were prepared for the events that were to unfold, the nearly derelict house, the lost Russian Tsarist tiaras, Fabergé Egg, Diadems, exotic jewellery, the Mafia, Masonic Lodges, the British Consulate General, MI6 and murder. Who exactly was Uncle Aslan Kaplan and what was his involvement with all of this?
