Synopsis "Shadows over Sugar Time"

A storm is gathering over Molly Mae Farm. Sissy Garrett is lucky to be alive and she knows it. She abandons the farm and moves to Chicago to recover from leaving the Sisters of all Charity. She lives close to the newlyweds, Shirley Temple and Abel, who have adopted a little girl. Sissy and David Eastwood, who is in love with her, part, as neither can accept their differences. Sissy becomes acquainted with a woman who is establishing a shelter for abused women. Later, Sissy returns home to the farm, in order to hide a battered woman. After Sissy becomes embroiled in a murder, her life is threatened and only with the love of David does she recover from a brutal kidnapping, to become more embroiled with the evil surrounding her. Beth Ann's career as a movie star takes off. Will she keep her secret? This is the fourth novel in the Sugar Time series and is a compelling story of the Garretts as the darkness of abuse confronts them and the gathering shadows threaten their lives. Will the courage of Sissy Garrett sweep it away?
