Synopsis "Walking with God"

The first year of faith has a rhythm to it. The second year is when the answers stop coming. The prayer you have been praying since last spring has not been answered. The discipline has stopped feeling like anything. Someone you love has become difficult, and a loss you thought you had processed came back in the supermarket on an ordinary Tuesday. Most devotionals are written for the beginning. This one is written for the year after - when the habit is built, the feeling is gone, and staying is the only thing left to do.Inside these 365 readings you will find: Thirteen straight weeks on prayers that were answered no - and not one of them promises you an answer is comingThe verses nobody prints on anything: the psalm that ends in darkness, the prophet who accused God of deceiving him, the apostle who asked three times and was refusedGratitude when nothing new has arrived, rest when your mind will not stop, forgiveness of something old that never fully healedA seventh day each week that asks nothing of you at allNo calendar dates - start on the day you open it, in January or in AugustOne page. Five minutes. A verse from the King James Bible, a short reflection, one thing to do today, and a prayer - following the same seven-day rhythm as the first volume: gratitude, purpose, faith, perseverance, forgiveness, service, rest.Book 3 of the Walking with God series. Each volume stands alone - no previous book required. If this has been a hard year, start today.
