Synopsis "Gaslight"

GASLIGHT is the sequel to the novel FINAL VERDICT where Diane Cross, a former AUSA in NYC, prosecuted and convicted Angelo Paco for the mob murder of the mother of her boss and fiancé Byron King only to have Paco released by a dirty judge. In the course of the trial Cross falls in lust/love with Paco. King goes psycho, is elected US Pres. and captures all the NYC Mafia and Paco and attempts to execute them. Diane, now a crack criminal defense lawyer, defends and beast King in his court. Paco and Cross marry in Agrigento, Sicily and come back to NYC to live and work. Suddenly and mysteriously Paco is busted as an enemy combatant and charged in a capital case for planning to blow up the new 9/11 building. Diane with her crack investigator Jack Best battle to keep Paco in the Federal Court. Paco strongly denies any terrorist activities but the case seems a slam dunk against him. Best, using his Sherlock Holmes powers of observations and investigation, discovers that Paco is being "gas lighted" i.e being set up probably by a former Seal Team 6 member for revenge against Paco for killing his Chicago mob figure father while he was a contract killer. Best and Cross, after being attacked themselves, must bring the gaslight effort to court and avoid having Paco executed.
