José María Zavala is a journalist, writer, and film director. Author of more than forty books on the Bourbons or the Spanish Civil War, he has worked for over thirty years in the newsrooms of the newspapers El Mundo and Expansión, and in Capital magazine. He is the director and screenwriter of the films El Misterio del Padre Pío, the most watched in the history of the International Catholic Film Festival, and Renacidos, the most watched Spanish documentary in Spain in 2019.
