Synopsis "Régina (in French)"

Regina, bref roman du poète romantique Aphonse de Lamartine est une suite de son roman Graziella, avec lequel il est traditionnellement publié. Le narrateur est le même et fait allusion dans le chapitre V à son amour italien impossible. Cette fois, c'est d'une princesse en exil, Régina, qu'il s'éprend, frappé de sa beauté. Mais Régina aime son meilleur ami Saluce, qui, emprisonné en Italie, lui a confié l'amour de sa vie. Après avoir raconté l'origine de la passion entre Régina et Saluce à partir du récit qu'elle lui en a fait, le narrateur le complète grâce à la publication des lettres de son ami et révèle le malheur: Régina est promise contre son gré à un prince. Saluce l'enlève pour la soustraire à ce destin et se retrouve enfermé au château Saint-Ange. Ce drame d'amour se noue et se dénoue étrangement, autour du geste, finalement ambigu, du sacrifice.
